Dayton Chamber’s 6th Annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner
November 6, 2022 @ 5:00 pm
$20Because of the generosity of our sponsors, our veterans and their families enjoy an evening where we thank and honor them.
Chamber President John Cassinelli serves as the Master of Ceremonies and the evening begins with the presentation of colors by the Northern Nevada All Veterans Honor Guard, commanded by James Jackson. Benny Voice, a Dayton High School graduate who now attends WNC, will sing the national anthem. (Think Frank Sinatra, seriously the kid can sing!)
Lyon County Commissioner and United States Air Force veteran Ken Gray returns to officially welcome the group.
The Invocation asks us to unite as fellow Americans and expresses our gratefulness for those who serve and who have served.
From the dulcet tones of saxophonist David Lewis (who played overseas with the USO during the 80s) to a great raffle, door prizes and a pasta-filled buffet line, we aim to please!
The Marine Corps cake cutting ceremony completes the evening as the youngest veteran and the oldest veteran are called forward to assist in the cutting of the cake. The ceremonial cake is then shared with Chairman Hipp and our speaker, Congressman Mark Amodei. Amodei was a JAG lawyer in the Army and received several medals of commendation.
