Dayton State Park

Dayton State Park is a 150-acre Nevada state park located in the historic town of Dayton along the Carson River, about 12 miles east of Carson City. The park blends scenic natural beauty with rich mining history — it preserves the ruins of the Rock Point Mill, one of the early ore-processing mills built in 1861 to support the Comstock Lode silver boom. Originally used by the Paiute people as a fishing camp, today it offers opportunities for camping, picnicking, hiking, bird watching, fishing, and nature study amid cottonwoods, sagebrush, and riverside woodlands.
